Standard wood-plastic composites (uncapped or first-generation WPC) quickly degrade under this high-energy solar radiation. UV-induced photo-oxidation breaks down the polymer matrices, leading to severe chalking, cracking, color loss, and structural embrittlement. Furthermore, the extreme diurnal temperature variations in the Mountain Kingdom—shifting rapidly from sub-zero winter nights to hot summer afternoons—result in high thermal expansion stresses that fracture inferior materials.
Our Co-extrusion Technology provides the ultimate response. By enclosing the wood-fiber and HDPE core in an impenetrable outer armor layer containing advanced UV-inhibitors and thermal stabilizers, Yida WPC guarantees long-term structural integrity and aesthetic fidelity across Lesotho.
Unlike traditional extrusion processes, co-extrusion technology utilizes multi-manifold dies to feed two distinct material formulations simultaneously. This forms a fully encapsulated composite profile with chemically bonded layers.
The outer layer (cap) consists of an advanced polymer blend, pigments, and specific stabilizers. It acts as an impenetrable shield, preventing moisture ingress, resisting mold and termites, and isolating the organic wood fibers inside from environmental degradation.
The structural core is formulated using premium post-consumer recycled High-Density Polyethylene (HDPE) combined with highly refined reclaimed wood fibers. It provides high tensile strength, stiffness, and structural predictability under load.
During high-temperature co-extrusion, the core and cap undergo molecular cross-linking. This creates a monolithic, solid profile that completely eliminates any risk of delamination, peeling, or cracking under structural load.
